Filming updates

As of writing, I have filmed about one third of my first video! Unfortunately, I have been very busy writing college essays, but I still have found time in the past few weeks to drag my sister out to help me record. We got through three pages of my Plato script, which I decided to begin with because I have the best idea of what I want the final video to look like. I printed out paper versions of the script and highlighted the paragraphs that I want to be narrated. In the end, most of the scenes that I am filming will ultimately be dubbed over, but I am still filming as much as possible so that I have extra footage if I need it. My sister and I drove to a public park 5 minutes from our house, which I chose for its proximity and paved sidewalks. We selected a few backgrounds and then began to film. On average, we filmed each paragraph 15 times. That is not to say that it took me 15 tries to get the script, only that I wanted to get a few perfect takes in case the audio is bad. I also decided to film two versions of each scene—one where the microphone is clipped to my shirt, and one where I am holding the microphone. In the moment, I did this because I could not decide how I wanted the clips to look. Having categorized and reviewed the videos, however, I think I am going to film the rest of my footage with the microphone clipped to my shirt. Now that I have submitted my first few applications, I have much more time to film. Hopefully, I will have finished filming footage for my Plato video within the first week of November!
