As the school year has picked up, I have found it hard to dedicate large blocks of time to work on big portions of my project. That being said, I have continued researching and writing scripts, making particularly large process on my mousike and gymnastike videos. I have also now completed my slideshow presentation for the Summer Work Review meeting, which will take place tomorrow at the end of lunch. My slideshow is 22 slides long, and the main challenge I have encountered so far has been fitting my presentation into 8 minutes. While I was typing out the work I did over the summer, I was struck by how much research I was able to do in such a short amount of time. I have read seven books, the most helpful of which were The Greeks by Robert Beaton, Aristotle: His Life and School by Carlo Natali, and Plato's Republic by Allan Bloom. I also selected 5 of the most helpful articles that I read this summer, such as "Teaching and Learning in Classical Athens" by T. H. Rihll and "Isocrates and Plato on Rhetorical Education" by William L. Benoit. It was hard to condense all of my research into just a few slides and pictures, but the whole process made me really proud of the work I accomplished. Now, I just have to continue my momentum through the end of my project, and all of my scripts should be finished in the coming months!
